what could be wrong with my son

my two year old has had a fever for about 3 days now and i've given him tylenol and it helps him sleep but does nothing for the fever he has been laying around and not eating much at all but still drinks milk water etc he also grabs his head and screams giving me the impression of a headache we are worried though since the fever doesn't seem to be breaking i've noticed him chewing on his fingers and drooling so I think that he is just cutting his two year old molars my husband thinks i'm wrong because he has had the fever for a few days now and wants to take him to a doctor so any suggestions as to what it might be i really do think he is just cutting his molars
