Hi Devon,
All babies start to talk at different times, it is common to start out with ba ba or da da as these are easy for them. Emilie started talking about a month ago. She only says a few words but when I have a toy or her bottle I try to get her to watch me say the words, plus it will help her to learn what these things are. PS regarding be tired, it sounds like you need to destress. If you can get the time try a good book, or a bubble bath. they might help you relax before bed. |

Most likely at 5 months she is not aware of the meaning of what she is saying. She is making noise because she can. Her muscles in her mouth are getting stronger and she may also be trying to imitate sounds she hears.
Around 9 months the capacity to understand language increases dramatically, and that is more likely when she will start to say words referring to something specific.
But you never know, some babies will start early. My son started sayin dada at 4 months, but he didn't know what it meant. He kept saying it, though, because my husband and I got excited. |
