I always mixed my son's with gerber bananas. I had tried it myself when I first started feeding him and realized it was nasty and needed a little something. He loved it after I mixed in the fruit.

I'm not sure how old your baby is, but you could try adding whole milk to the cereal along with fruit, the milk gives it a creamier flavor. My son personally likes the cereal when I add the gerber vanilla custard pudding to it. (not the most healthy, but it works!)

My son after a while he kind of got tired of gerber cereal so what I do know is that I buy the regular oatmeal cereal and the oatmeal with apples and cinamon cereal and I mixed them together so its not that sweet, I still using his formula milk with it. He loves it and its less expensive too. =0)

Devon, you're not doing anything wrong. babies go through stages where they like things and then they don't. If you have started veggies or fruit it could be that the cereal is too bland. You could mix fruit or veggies with the cereal, or put half cereal and half veggie or fruit on each spoonful. Don't stress to much- most of her calories and nutrition are still coming from her formula, so she is still getting enough to eat. Don't force it, but continue to offer. Mix up only small amounts so you don't waste a lot- you can always mix up more if she eats it all.

I wouldn't recommend getting into the habit of mixing sweet foods in because that may make her want that all the time and have a hard time with other foods that aren't sweet.

my son didn't like bananas at first either, after a couple more tries he started to really love them though. It often takes several tries for babies and children to like a new food, so don't give up after one or two tries. Wait a week and try it again and she may like it.

I wouldn't push the cereal if your baby doesn't like it. My pediatrician said it's ok to mix cereal with apple juice and my daughter loves that. I also give her half rice cereal and half barley. I think that the rice cereal is pretty bland and doesn't have much flavor. They also have baby oatmeal that probably has more flavor to it than the rice. If your child was ok with the rice you could try a different variety. Good Luck!
