MY SON IS NOW A YEAR OLD. HE LOST HIS HEARING AT 5 MONTHS AND I DONT KNOW WHAT HE WANTS.  THIS IS GETTING HARDER TO DEAL WITH. I FEEL LIKE I AM ALONE AND I NOW I AM NOT. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS DO NOT LISTEN NOR DO THEY KNOW HOW I FEEL OR WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH. I WANT TO BE HAPPY WHEN I AM WITH ALEX BUT I HAVE MY OWN PROBLEMS ALONG WITH ALL HIS HEALTH ISSUES. WHAT  DO I DO??

Maybe you should start introducing him to sign language so that you can establish a communication with him.

I agree with vero about learning to sign. Babies and kids pick it up so fast, parents might take a little longer. This would benefit both you and your son now and in the future. Also have you talked to your ped about a hearing aid? That too could help your little guy.

I worked in a daycare that taught toddlers under 2 sign language and boy it was very effective. First start with the basic sign and then eventually work your way up.
