Hey mom look! I can take off my diaper and run around the room!

I have a problem.

My daughter is two. I tried potty training her when she was about 1 and a half. It proved unsuccessful. I think there was a barrier because of the fact she doesn't talk as much as other kids her age do, this being because she's learning english and spanish, so it has it's issues.

Lately, she has gotten into the habit of taking off her diaper at different times. Most of the time being right before she goes to sleep so that when I go and check on her in the middle of the night, she's most of the time lying in a huge puddle of her urine. That obviously being a problem in itself, there's more to it. She has proceeded to take off her diaper and relieve herself on different objects around the house. This of course cannot go on.

I really am at a loss of what to do. I ask her to tell me when she needs to go potty, I ask her about every half hour if she has to go and it's always no. I'm at my wits end and the laundry, naturally, is getting ridiculous.

PLEASE HELP!!

Stop asking her & take her. My 2yr old daughter is potty training too. I put her on her potty before she lays down and she stays dry through naptime and bedtime. She eats early enough in the evening to poop way before bedtime. We are still potty training, and have been for over a yr. She conquered pee time, it's poop time she refuses. But if I leave it up to her, she wets herself. Taking her diaper of is a sign she's ready for potty training. try pull ups or onesies to keep those diapers on. Stay patient, keep your head up!

I agree with Renee. Don't ask your child if they want to go because some kids will say no all the time and just take em'. We have not stated potty training yet, he ped says that boys are not interested like girls are. We planned on getting him the potty chair for Christmas and letting him get use to it and let him sit on it when we go.

I am at the potty training stage with my 2 yr old twins too.(a boy and a girl) I really think my daughter is ready and could probably be potty trained quickly if I stuck to it, but her twin brother has no interest at all; he could care less. My question for you is, does she have a potty chair or do you try to use the big potty? If you have a potty chair, where is it? Some people say to make it accessible, like when you're home, put it in the living room so she can sit on it while she watches tv, or so she wont have to go in the bathroom alone. Personally, I used the big potty for my two older children and they did fine. Different things work for different people. I definitely think that if shes taking her diaper off, she is ready, but you have to convince her that she needs to go in the potty. Have you tried incentives or rewards for her going ON the potty?
