6 month old spit up

my 6 month old started to spit up when she was a month old and now she is 6 months old and spits up almost the entier amount of her bottle at every feeding and the doctor she goes to sayed that is normal and put her on medicatoun in which makes it worse. what do i do? and she is now on baby food.

1) try to burp her more often, maybe she's taking more milk than she can handle
2) try switching to soy formula, some babys are allergic to the normal milk but grow out of the allergy later (this happened to my husband when he was a baby)
3) try a formula that has "for babies who spit up frequently" on it. they make it thicker, which sometimes helps.

I hope one of these helps you, my son went through a period where it seemed like he was spitting up everything I fed him, but after a month or so he grew out of it. :)

i started on lactose free then i switched to gentleasy which is soy based which has helped some becouse the of the fact that i was breastfeeding when she started and i do try to get her to burp even though she is very hard to burp. my mom and i are trying to find some one whom can help with her illiosical valve becouse when my brothers and i where at this age we had the same problem and that is what she had to do to make us better

I am a massage therapist, and in school was taught how to put down a person's HIATAL HERNIA. It is what causes heartburn, and what causes babies to spit up. I recommend you looking for a massage therapist who can do this, or if you are interested, send me a message and I will give you the best instructions I can on how to do it yourself. It might sound complicated, but it really isn't, and it's nothing that will hurt your baby to do. You can also help prevent the spitting up by not laying her down or jostling her around too much right after eating. Try letting her lay in a bouncer or something else that keeps her elevated enough to where the food doesn't just come right back up. Definitely don't lay her flat, esp. not on her belly.
