15 or older...ive seen alot of young girls wear Way to much makeup and pervs dont need another reason to look at little girls. I never was into makeup so i dont even know how to help my girls out when it comes to that...

Kids look mature these days, so make up is reserved until 9th grade. Lipgloss is fine!

I wasn't allowed to wear make-up until I was 15 years-old and I had to fight just to get that.

I think she should never wear make-up...it is bad for our skin and a lot of women do not need it! It is fun to feel pretty every once in a while though...so on the rare occasion it will be fine but it will be discouraged rather than encouraged!

I think high school is when a girl should be alowed to wear make-up. You as the parents should make sure it is going on the right way. not to much, and a natural look.

WOW- tricky ???
I was younger when I took to makeup but it was the little girl stuff so I don't think it counted. I was twelve when I wore make up my mom didn't know about so I put 13 on the answer. Just cause of how I was....
I think if a girl is taught how to take care of her skin and how to wear proper colors she could go as young as 12.

I put 14 because you start freshman year in high school. And if you are going to dances or something...

My mom had to fight with me to wear makeup. I have really senstive skin and it was hard for me to find any that didn't make me break out. I'm 35 and I still don't wear it.

15 is just the right age. You so all the young girls running around that are 12 an 13 who have more makeup then a grownup. Ididnt start till i was 15.

i put the age that a girl starts high school-14. a 12 yr old child does not need make-up, like she would even know how to properly distribute make-up throughout her face anyway! a child of that age might appear to be a clown or worse, a slut to some.

Whats the rush? They will be grown before you know it and then you'll be wshing for the days of "playful" dress up. 15 years is plenty old says this mom of one boy and maybe one on the way! (what do I know know)

I don't have a daughter, so I really can't make a statement. I think that children should play with it at home and this would allow mother-daughter time so that when they come to the age which mother thinks is appropriate, she can begin to wear make up to school. If you can play with your child, while they are at an age to listen, it will become a teaching moment.
However, things such as moisturizers and skin cleansing routines are necessary from at least 4 years old. Being nice smelling and having clean skin is very important, especially if you are a girl.

make-up can be a big responsablity that I don't think some girls are ready for at a young age. I was 16 when I to started wearing it but I was taught how to make it appear natureal. I think 16 is a good age, that is when they start being less child and more adult and they have proms and other things going on at school that they want to look nice for.

Well I was about 14 when I was able to wear make-up BUT I think that when a girl becomes a teen it will be ok, I mean you don't want her to walk out of the house looking like a hooker or anything but just simple make-up. I think she should be taught how to put it on so she doesn't put on too much or look silly

Young girls are trying to be grown up before their time.

Thirteen is a reasonable age I think. Thats when I started wearing makeup. As long as they know how to wear it, you know soft colors, and stuff. You dont want her sneaking around your back putting it on in the girls locker room. In my opinion if you child cant be honest with you about makeup she might feel she cant tell you things and it could lead to other things.
