I decided that my son would not co sleep because I saw that my friend was having a hard with her oldest co sleep and now she is doing it all over again with her youngest. Her oldest was almost 4 years when she starting sleeping in her own bed and her youngest is 14 months and still sleeping in mom and dad's bed. And dad is sleeping on the couch.

At first i said i would not cosleep but when my daughter got colic really bad i found it easier to have her beside me when her tummy started hurting i could just roll over pick her up an rock her so her tummy would quit hurting.

We definitely co-sleep with our little one. I can't imagine not doing it. I figure he was nice and snuggly in my tummy for 9 months to give birth and expect him to sleep all by himself just doesn't make since. Babies like the closeness of their mommies, the smell and warmth. There is no way I could take that away from him. He has the rest of his life for that.

we co sleep and will continue to do so until it no longer works for us. i nurse so it seems much more sensible to me to have her right next to me rather than to get up, leave my snuggly bed to tend to or nurse my girl.

Funny story...I was all about co-sleeping, and was even going to register for a co-sleeper baby bassinet that attaches to the adult bed, but my best friend asked me if I wanted to use her bassinet that he two children had used. It was beautiful, and so wonderfully sweet of her to ask, so I said yes. Good thing it was on wheels and the same height as our bed...I pulled it right next to us and had our own, although slightly different version, co-sleeper just like I wanted...only this one had such special meaning to me. Anthony was there for about 4 months or so.

He is 16 months now and I will probably keep it up for a while longer yet. I still BF so that's part of the reason.

My husband and I never co-slept with our son. My husband had these terrifying nightmares that he'd rolled over on the baby and smothered him. He would have them despite the baby sleeping quietly in his crib, hence the NO co-sleeping.

We have co-slept since day one and I would it the same way again. My daughter is now 22 months old and since 18 months we have been having her start the night out in her own bed but she wakes up in the middle of the night and comes and climbs in our bed. She prefers it also. She sleeps better between us. I know a lot of people worry about rolling over on the child and my husband had the same fear, but it never happened.

I just had my son co-sleep through colic 0-3 months and he is not even 2 yet and sleeps in a normal kid bed and never tries to get out so it is NOT always true that if they co-sleep they will want 2 forever :)

I had my twins in a co-sleeper from the day they came home. If not I would have been up and walking back and forth ALL night long. This way I could, half asleep, pick up which ever one was crying pop on the boob and fall asleep cuddling! This was the only way I could have had sleep, peace of mind and I also loved snuggling with my babies all night. When my daughter learned to roll she would be fed and then put back in the cosleeper but my son slept with us till 6 months. at 6 months they both easily went down in their crib cause that's where they had taken naps. Co-sleeping did not make them 'clingy' or unable to fall asleep on their own. They have been slepping through the night since 4 months and I think it's because they felt safe with mama and daddy.
