How do I fill the void left from pulling her away from the social interaction of school?

My name is Shanna. I am hoping this on-line group will give my daughter and I a format for exploring and expanding our homeschooling goals. Alanna is a smart, gregarious 10 year old girl. I am homeschooling her because our school system does meet her educational needs and is simply not safe. We are not involved in a church or any social groups. I am disabled so that limits a lot of activities for us. Her sibilings are all grown and gone. It is just us and she is lonely. There are no children in our neighborhood her age. What can I do to ease her loneliness and find her the companionship she needs?

Try Kid Cultivators Homeschool Group.  It's an on-line group but they also meet in certain areas.
