Dealing with their emotions?

I had a really good evening last night with one of my fellow rock wives.

Wow, I've never experienced this.  I wonder if it's because my guy doesn't have any of the songwriting credits...  I know this one guy he plays for is very sensitive - he gets really bummed out if they play a kickass show and don't get an encore (which happens infrequently and always strikes me as really odd).  Anyway, sorry, I can't help with this one - I'm eager to read the other responses!

Emotions!!! and somehow they have a license to be a*#holes because "I'm an artist and you don't understand".

Its so hard and they can be sooo sensitive... Its hard to try and give any feedback because depending on his mood its usually not helpful...

I find he needs alot of space and I can't expect him to hold on to feelings for long.. his mood changes (artistic temperament I'm told) and its easier to let things go than try and figure how the hell you got where you are!

I love these play by plays - keep em' coming!  Reminds me of my best girlfriend's family get togethers - everything is haywire!  "Should we get chips for the barbecue.. no, we don't need chips... well, I like chips... there are pretzels so we don't need chips...  some other people might want chips... okay, we'll get them... no it's okay we have pretzels..."  BTW, my sweetie is in Nashville, too!

My husband isn't like that at all, but I can think of two friends that are totally that way - what is it with musicians??  I guess they're sensitive!  It always sucks when you compliment them on their show and they come back with some negative "I played totally shitty tonite" or something similar.  Makes me want to withhold the damn compliment.  Sheesh...  You've got a good attitude, Em!  I'll try and learn from you!
