Hi Beth!  It's such a challenge, huh?  Our son is 2 1/2 and we use a sticker chart...this seems to be working - we have good days and bad days.  Good luck!

I simply took a piece of construction paper and made a grid with marker, and at the top wrote ANTHONY'S POTTY CHART. He gets to choose a sticker if he successfully goes pee pee or poops in the potty and chooses a square to put the sticker in.  I told him when it's full we can go to the store and choose a "special" car....matchbox cars are $1.00 at KMart, so everyone wins!  :)

My son wouldn't go potty either. I tried the cheerios & the colored water nothing got his attention. Finally I tried Candy. I did single pieces of hard candy when he went pee. We had a bowl full of assorted hard candy if he even let out a drop he got a piece. If he went poop he got a "SPECIAL". Which was a hershy KISS. He got candies alot at first, because we made a big deal about going in every five minutes for the first week. Then we backed off the candy. We cheered when he went but gave candy only when he remembered it. Eventually he forgot about the candy all together & he was completely potty trained in no time once we discovered candy. I think the candy worked so well because it's not something he was allowed to have.
