Sept. Book Discussion

Did I miss this? I can't find a post on it. Or is it not time yet? I only managed to read one, Rules of the Game. And to be honest I still have to finish it up but should be done with it tomorrow.

I don't think we have started the Sept. book discussion so i think this would be a good place to do it.  I was able to read 2 of the books for this month but thats only because one of them was a carry over from the month before.

First I read Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris.  I thought this book was pretty good.  I am not usually a fan of mysteries but they are starting to grow on me.  I think the relationship Harper and her step brother have is a little weird.  It seemed fairly romantic for a brother/sister relationship but maybe that was just me.  I think the power that Harper has is pretty interesting and I am definitely going to read the second book in the series.

I also read The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.  I liked this book but I had a couple of problems with it.  I thought the 12 year old narrator got a little bit annoying sometimes.  Percy is written well but I guess I just don't like the way 12 year old boys talk.  I also thought the story got a little redundant after a while.  It just seemed like it was fight a monster, travel a little, fight a monster, travel.  I really like Greek Mythology and that helped me to enjoy the book more I think.  I am reading the second book in the series now and it is definitely better than the first one.  If you like The Lightning Thief at all you should give Sea of Monsters a try for sure.

I only finished one book, Rules of the Game. And I didnt get the double book copy so I didnt read whatever the other one that comes with it. Not much to say about it, really. Typical romance. I enjoyed it, mostly. I do prefer more mystery or suspense or even more substantial conflict in my romances. But I like Nora Roberts and I like her writing. So really, I think I could probably read anything by her!

(I published before I was ready! oops)

I still plan on reading 16 Lighthouse Rd., I'm just going to be late to the party on it.

just finished janet chapmans's moonlight warrior.

kenzie gregor moves to midnight bay to save the spirits of those transformed by an evil witch back in the 9th century. he himself had previosuly been many animals due to similar circumstances and has now allwoed to spend his last life to be lived and die as a man. Eknzie buy the farm where eve lives unknown to him he didnt knwo it was the same farm and her mothers brother in law had sol it out from under them giving them only 5 days to move out. But kenzie being who he is allows them to reside and they become his house keepers as well as run their failing business in town. Eve and Kenzie fall in love with no help from the balc magic that fiollows them due to the wich who had cast the spell and doesnt take kindly to kenzie helping william killkenny.......

couldnt put it down and now cant wait for book 2, william killkenny's story. my guess is him and her best friend maddy will get together based on what happened in this book
